Kheis Riverside Lodge is named after the indigenous Khoi-San that means “to stay” and is situated on the banks of the Orange River, where the Upper Karoo and Kalahari Green join together. Kheis Riverside Lodge is the perfect stop over accommodation for tourists, avid campers or travellers just looking to get away.
The lovely lodge offers a choice of comfortable chalets or campsites. The 10 chalets are fully equipped for self-catering, with an open-plan living area. The chalets also offer guests beautiful views of the grounds and surroundings. The 10 campsites are located along the river bank, and each site has a private barbecue area and electricity is also provided. At Kheis Riverside Lodge there is a restaurant and fully licensed bar, where dinners and sundowners can be enjoyed. Kheis Riverside Lodge can also accommodate weddings, and a lapa is available for conference needs.
Fishing is a big attraction for anglers from all over the country, and for bird-watchers, there are 150 identified species in the area. Hiking trails can be found alongside the Orange River and water channels, and a 4×4 route is located on a nearby game farm. Quad bike trails are also available, and you are more than welcome to bring your own quad bike.
Situated next to the river, various water activities can be enjoyed, from tube riding, canoeing down the river or simply relaxing and swimming. Life jackets are available on request.
